What it is
Canva, the design software company. Features are gated by plan, from Free through Pro, Business and Enterprise.
A person authorizes the connector with their own Canva login, then asks the assistant to generate a design from a description, create one from a brand template, resize it for other channels, add comments for the designer or export a PDF, image, presentation or video. There are limits on how many requests a minute it will take.
Which features come with which plan is spelled out. Generating, copying, searching, commenting and exporting designs are available on every plan. Brand kits, brand templates and resizing need Pro or above. Filling a brand template from data, so that one template produces many partner or regional variants, is Enterprise only. Export quality follows the plan.
What marketing teams should take from it
- It is the concrete route for finding 04.3: generalists producing routine assets from templates the design team approved, with the designer checking exceptions.
- Autofill on Enterprise is the capability for partner and industry marketing. One approved template, many correct variants.
- Comments land in Canva, so the review loop can stay where the designers already work.
- Brand controls and approval workflows exist in the product but are not exposed to the assistant, and each user signs in with their own account.
Where to start
Have the creative director build one brand template for the highest-volume asset, the event banner or the partner social card, and connect two generalists to it through the assistant. On Enterprise, load partner names and dates as data so the template produces the variants itself. Review the first twenty before widening access.
Ask the creative director what a generalist can override on your plan, and agree the three checks, layout, readability and brand use, that design review will run on a sample every month.
